Testimonials for Missing Link Tutoring

Testimony by Devin (student) said through by his aunt Alexis: Had to tell you before it slips my mind - as we left your place, Devon tells me (voluntarily) Dave is the best tutor I’ve ever had and the nicest person. He followed up saying he appreciates how you give him a snack and water and I asked how does working with you make him feel and he said “like I belong”. Devin added, Dave knows how to explain things in a way that makes sense. And Alexis added, Thank you so much Dave for all your help and support, it really is making a difference.

After working as Dave’s personal coach for the last 2 years, I have gotten to know him and how he operates his business very closely. I recommend Missing Link Tutoring with Dave as often as I have the chance to because of the unique approach he takes with the kids. He uses a unique blend of education and empathy to create a safe space for a struggling child to completely transform and I’ve seen it happen multiple times. Dave allows kids to feel understood in ways they often don’t at home or school, and he has a special gift when it comes to getting a child remotivated in their own success and willing to try again. If you have a child who is struggling with school, I 100% trust Dave at Missing Link Tutoring to be able to help you child with their academics, and probably much more.

Dave is amazing! I had him as a tutor when I was younger and honestly changed my academic life. I struggled in a few subjects as well as organization. I went to many other tutors before, including Sylvan’s, but nothing stuck until Dave. His style and process truly gets to the root of the student’s struggle and works outward while building their self confidence. He is very dedicated to his students and makes it a fun experience so that they begin to love learning again! If this was Yelp there wouldn’t be enough stars. I am proud to be one of Dave’s many success stories!

I highly recommend Dave as not only was he a great teacher but he was kind, which is important when you’re nine years old. I’m a music major and as a kid, I did great in my reading, art and music classes but had a hard time with Math and even history. When Dave stepped in to relieve my mom (who was not the best tutor at all), I was in 4th grade, and things got much better. I was, and still am, the kind of student that asks a lot of questions to really understand something, and that 1:1 time with Dave really helped me understand the basics, which were critical to keeping up at the rapid rate we were going. I highly recommend Dave as not only was he a great teacher but he was kind, which is important when you’re nine years old.

Dave is a wonderful person who truly cares about kids and their success in school and life. When our daughter was in grammar school, she struggled with Math and we quickly found out that as parents, we were not suited to help her. We asked our friend Dave to step in, and in a short time, she started to do better not only in Math but in all her classes thanks to Dave’s tutoring. He focused on organization and studying skills as well as math, and it set her on the right path. I’d strongly recommend Dave as he is a wonderful person who truly cares about kids and their success in school and life.

Dave plays a vital role in helping children understand difficult concepts to aide their educational experience. I have known Dave Bertolucci for over 17 years. I met him when I worked at the private school ‘Rainbow of Knowledge’ in San Jose. In the time I worked with Dave he was involved in the classroom setting working with children. He has always been a very hard working individual who puts the needs of students first. Dave had a very good rapport with parents and played a vital role in helping children understand difficult concepts to aide in their educational experience.

Dave also teaches his students about making good choices and taking personal responsibility in everything they do. It is our pleasure to write a recommendation for Dave Bertolucci. Our family has known Dave for over 25 years. We met Dave when he was a preschool teacher at the daycare attended by our children. Dave is a kind, compassionate, and dedicated man. He is always willing to help in any way he can. He is ambitious and does what it takes to help his students succeed. In tutoring, Dave not only helps children succeed scholastically but, along the way, also teaches his students about making good choices and taking personal responsibility in everything they do. He is a great role model as he has always worked hard to reach his own goals. We know Dave to be very caring, kind, and considerate and he wants nothing more than to help students succeed. We consider Dave part of our family.

His unorthodox style breaks the monotony of the classroom and sparks a curiosity for learning. I’ve known Dave for nearly 25 years in academic, professional, and personal settings. Dave was my Pre-kindergarten teacher, a mentor and tutor for many of us for years after. His unorthodox style breaks the monotony of the classroom and sparks a curiosity for learning. Dave is patient when required, direct when appropriate, and is always empathetic to his students.

Dave is patient, positive and a real confidence boost for kids! We are very pleased to recommend Dave Bertolucci as a tutor. He worked with our 3rd grader niece weekly for 6+ months while she lived with us and he helped her improve by more than a full grade level on her year-end exams. He also showed her how to approach schoolwork in an organized way that has continued her success. Dave is patient, positive and a real confidence boost for those kids who need it.
